Out Loud Foundation and BFMI Sign Strategic Agreement for Youth Media Literacy Project under Erasmus+
We are proud to announce the official signing of the partnership agreement between Out Loud Foundation (Bulgaria) and the Balkan Free Media Initiative (Belgium) to implement the Erasmus+ project S.C.R.O.L.L. β Smart Content Research for Online Learning and Literacy.
BFMI (Belgium) and Out Loud Foundation (Bulgaria)
Funded under the Erasmus+ Programme, Action Type KA210-YOU (Small-scale partnerships in youth), this 14-month initiative will empower young people across Europe with vital skills in media literacy, digital resilience, and critical thinking.
The agreement solidifies a collaboration built on more than 20 years of shared values and professional experience between the founders of the two organizations, each bringing complementary expertise:
Out Loud Foundation, with its roots in journalism, disinformation research, and youth education in Bulgaria, will coordinate the project and lead the creation of educational content through the Smart Scroll Academy.
BFMI, based in Brussels, brings deep knowledge of media freedom, advocacy, and digital content creation across the Balkans and will lead the development of digital materials for the platform.
Together, the two partners will implement key activities, including:
β Smart Scroll Academy - Spring Squad β A youth-led academy to shape the platformβs direction
β Platform development and content creation by and for teens
β Piloting and refinement based on real-time feedback from young users
β Strategic dissemination across schools, media, and youth networks in Europe
The SCROLL platform will speak in the language of today's generation β engaging, visual, and peer-driven β and will provide open-access content to support schools, educators, families, and youth organizations.
This partnership reaffirms our joint commitment to building a media-savvy, critically thinking, and empowered generation of young Europeans.
Stay tuned and follow our journey as we launch this transformative project in 2025.
