Tagesschau: The influence of Russian media in Serbia is “huge”

BFMI Director Antoinette Nikolova has been quoted in an article published by German news outlet Tagesschau about the influence of Russian state-sponsored media in Serbia.

Nikolova explains that Serbian affection for Russia is not new: "Apart from the proximity of the Slavic language and Orthodox culture, memories of the 1999 NATO intervention in Kosovo are very fresh, and Russia does not recognize Kosovo either.” Under Serbia President Vučić, however, this has intensified again - not least because of the media propaganda. As the former information minister of the Serbian ruler and war criminal Slobodan Milošević, “Vučić is a master of propaganda."
