Media Analyst and Consultant
Sonia Kanikova is a media analyst and consultant based in Washington DC. She taught at the University of London, School of Slavonic and East European Studies, where she organised a number of conferences on Balkan history, religion and nationalism. From 1997 to 2001, she worked as an analyst for the UN International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) in The Hague. Since 2002, she has been based in Washington DC working with Deutsche Welle covering US foreign policy with focus on South-Eastern Europe and the EU.
Sonia is the author of a book on 16th century Czech romance literature, author of entries and co-editor ofThe Everyman Companion to East European Literature. She has published a number of academic articles on various topics ranging from literature and history to politics in Eastern Europe.
